Chapman University's prime location in the beautiful city of Orange puts it in the heart of Orange County, Calif., which has been recognized as one of the best places to live in the United States by publications such as Places Rated Almanac.

Location, Location, Location ...
Orange County is the country's fifth largest county with nearly 3 million people. Its diverse economy is centered on manufacturing, trade, as well as recreational and service industries. Many of America's largest corporations call Orange County their home or their U.S. headquarters, including Allergan, Beckman Coulter, Broadcom, CKE Restaurants (Carl's and Hardy's), Disney, Ford Motor Co.'s Premier Automotive Group, KIA Motors America, Mazda North America, Oakley and Washington Mutual. There's also a large high-tech industry presence with companies such as Broadcom, Gateway, Ingram Micro and Western Digital headquartered in Orange County.

Chapman is also within walking distance of Old Towne Orange, which is a historic residential neighborhood filled with antique stores, coffee shops, restaurants and a library.

Beaches, Mountains and Deserts
Orange County is also known for having some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, including Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Huntington Beach, which are all within 20 miles of the campus. And being centrally located in Southern California, you're always a short drive away from popular mountain and desert destinations that offer a variety of adventures from skiing and snowboarding, to camping, hiking and biking.

Activities
Orange County is known for its variety of first-rate theaters, concert halls, playhouses, street fairs and festivals, art galleries and museums, and nightclubs. And because of Southern California's temperate climate, a myriad of outdoor recreation activities are available year-round, including surfing, skiing, biking, camping, backpacking, fishing, boating, whale watching, tennis, and golf (with more than 30 public golf courses located throughout Orange County).
