FAQs Regarding Chapman University’s Recruitment

Recruitment Steps:

I. Application Phase
II. Interview Phase
III. Final Phase

I. Application Phase

I have just submitted my application online or via fax and would like to confirm that you have received it.
Due to the heavy volume of applications we receive, we are unable to confirm the receipt of your application materials. For online application, you should receive a successful submission confirmation after you click submit.

What Happens After I Submit My Resume?
Your application materials will be reviewed and communication will be made if salary verification is needed and/or when applicants are invited for interviews.

Each department has different hiring needs so the length of the hiring process will vary depending on the position.

What is the application deadline for the position that I applied?
We do not have set timelines or specific closing dates for any of our positions. We recommend that you submit your application materials as soon as possible. All positions are open for a minimum of 7 business days.

I have already included my salary in the application. Do I need a separate salary history?
You will not need to submit a separate salary history if you have included your salary in the application for all employments. Salary history may be placed directly on your resume, or explained within your cover letter.

Salary requirements and range are not accepted as salary history.

Where can I find the salary information for a specific position?
We do not disclose salaries or salary ranges. We will contact you to verify your interest if your current salary is much higher than our budgeted salary.

What does “Currently Not Accepting Further Applications” mean?
The position is closed to further applications when the recruiting department has notified Employment Services that a sufficient pool of applicants has been established.

I was invited to an interview but something came up and I will not be able to attend. Whom can I contact?
Please contact Employment Services at (714) 997-6921. We will notify the hiring manager of the situation.

I would like to send a thank you note after the interview process. Where can I find the names of the people in my interview committee?
Please forward all post interview comments to Employment Services. We will ensure proper delivery of your information.

How do I know when a job is filled?

I received a letter or email regarding the position to which I applied. Can I contact human resources or the department for additional feedback?
We do not provide additional feedback regarding your application materials or interview performance.

I received a letter or email regarding lack of salary history, but I listed my salary range or requirements on the cover letter. Isn’t this sufficient?
