Departmental Awards & Scholarships

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP:  Schmid College of Science offers a selected group of incoming freshmen students the opportunity to receive merit awards.  Students are chosen on a competitive basis and will be notified of award before May 31st.

OUTSTANDING SENIORS in BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES: Senior biological sciences majors who demonstrate academic excellence and service to the community are nominated by biological science faculty. One or more outstanding students is selected by a vote of the biological sciences faculty.

CHEVERTON TROPHY: Awarded to the most outstanding graduating senior of Chapman University. Eligible candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 3.7, have made significant contributions to student activities, and have exhibited leadership skills. Recent recipients of this prestigious award include Ryan Van Ramshorst (2006), major Biological Sciences, Tauseef Qureshi, major Biological Sciences (2002); Nicole Benitah, major Biological Sciences (2001), Suzanne Crandall, major Biological Science (2000), Matt Barcelona, major Chemistry, minor Biological Sciences (1991).
