Daniele C. Struppa, Ph.D. Chancellor 714.997.6826, struppa@chapman.edu
Dr. Daniele Struppa has a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Maryland (1981) and joined Chapman University as Provost in July 2006. Prior to coming to Chapman University, Dr. Struppa had a distinguished career as a Professor of Mathematics, and occupied positions at the University of Milano (Italy), at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa (Italy), at the University of Calabria (Italy) and, since 1987, at George Mason University. He is the author of more than 100 refereed publications, including two books, and he is the editor of several volumes.
While at George Mason, Dr. Struppa served as director of the Center for the Applications of Mathematics, as chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences, and as associate dean for graduate studies. In 1997 he was selected dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at George Mason University, a position he held until he joined Chapman Universpity.
Dr. Struppa has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, such as the George Mason University Foundation, the Fall for the Book Festival, the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, the Center for Media and Public Affairs, and the Center for the Arts and Policy.

Dr. Fite came to Chapman University in 2001 as Associate Provost and as Professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literature. Before joining Chapman, Dr. Fite was Director of the Faculty Center for Professional Development, Coordinator of Assessment, and Professor in the Department of English and Foreign Languages at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He received his Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Linguistics, and Literature from the University of Southern California. Dr. Fite is author of Harold Bloom: The Rhetoric of Romantic Vision and numerous articles on rhetoric, literary theory and modern poetics. |

Dr. Graham came to Chapman in 2002 as Associate Dean in University College. In 2003 she became Dean and established the academic infrastructure, faculty governance, academic policy, and academic procedures for the University College. In 2007 she joined the Chancellor’s staff. Prior to Chapman, Dr. Graham was Dean of Education and Professor of Curriculum & Instruction at Andrews University and Department Chair of education at Wittenberg University. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Policy & Leadership & Professional Development from Ohio State University. Dr. Graham is a presenter in the fields of ethics, instructional development and accreditation in higher education. |

Jeanne Gunner, Ph.D. Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Education 714.744.7627, gunner@chapman.edu
Jeanne Gunner joined the Chapman community in 2003 as Assistant Provost for General Education and Professor of English and Comparative Literature. She has been Director of Core Composition at Santa Clara University and Assistant Director of UCLA Writing Programs, and she is the editor of the NCTE journal College English. She received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Rutgers University. Among her publications are articles and chapters on writing and ideology and several textbooks for writing courses. Her current research focuses on ideological literacy among Salvadoran campesinos. At Chapman she is teaching writing and general education classes. |

Raymond Sfeir, Ph.D. Vice Chancellor for Academic Administration 714.997.6551, sfeir@chapman.edu
Dr. Raymond Sfeir holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He joined the Chapman University faculty in 1985 and is a Professor of Economics and Management Science in the Argyros School of Business and Economics. Dr. Sfeir has published numerous articles on inventory studies, efficiency in education, mutual funds performance, and uncertainty studies. He currently teaches statistics and forecasting courses. |

Iris (Kemp-Blair) Gerbasi, M.A. Assistant Chancellor 714.997.6676, gerbasi@chapman.edu
Ms. Gerbasi began teaching theatre in Chapman’s Communications Department in 1982. Before joining the Chancellor’s office she was Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Communication. Her oversight included curriculum, schedules, enrollments and budgets. For 20 years she served as tournament director for the Henry Kemp-Blair Annual Shakespeare Tournament. She was on the producing team for American Celebration from 1984-2005, serving in recent years as executive producer. Ms. Gerbasi has a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in media production and a M.A. in English with a concentration in media writing. |

Marisol Arredondo, Ph.D. Director of Institutional Research 714.628.7339, arredond@chapman.edu
Dr. Arredondo came to Chapman from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where she served as a research associate in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning. She was the principal investigator for that institution's Campus Climate Survey project, was involved in the preparation of their accreditation self-study report, and worked to develop several campus-wide surveys. Before arriving at CSU Pomona, she was at the nationally recognized Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA. Dr. Arredondo holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Organizational Change, a M.A. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in counseling, and a B.A. in Psychology--all from the University of California, Los Angeles. |

Ron DiMelfi, Ph.D. Director of Sponsored Research 714.744.7664, dimelfi@chapman.edu
Ron DiMelfi, holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Stanford University. He has worked as a professor at the University of New Mexico, and as researcher and manager of research at several government laboratories. At Argonne National Laboratory, he was the manager of the Materials Behavior Section and founding Director of the Engineered Materials Center, established to foster collaborative projects between private industry and the Laboratory. He obtained more than $1M in research support and published more than 40 technical articles in refereed journals. In 2002, he was named Director of Sponsored Programs at National University. Just before joining Chapman in 2006, Dr. DiMelfi was in private practice in San Diego, where he obtained $500 K in grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Academy of Sciences. |

Ms. May holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies and an M.A. in Counseling, both from Chapman University. She re-joined the Chapman community in 2007 as Director of Academic Advising. Prior to coming back to Chapman, Ms. May served as the Coordinator of Freshman Advisement at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), where she was responsible for coordinating advising services for more than 3,500 freshmen as well as creating advising programs for undeclared majors. Prior to working at CSUF, she was an academic counselor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association and has presented at its regional conference. |

Barbara Mulch, Ph.D. Director of Fellowships and Scholar Programs 714.997.6733, mulch@chapman.edu
Dr. Mulch has been part of the Chapman University community since 1967. She taught classes as Associate Professor of History and served the institution in several academic administrative positions, including Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies. In recognition for this service, she was named Dean Emerita in 2003. Dr. Mulch earned her B.A. from McPherson College, pursued graduate studies in history at Stanford University, and earned her M.A. and a Ph.D. in the History of U.S. Diplomatic Relations with East Asia from the University of Kansas. |
