Investigator Training and Certification

Investigators and research personnel working with human research participants are encouraged to complete the National Institutes of Health (NIH) "Human Participant Protections Education for Research Teams" online training course or an equivalent. Access the NIH free course.

Log in under New User Registration and provide your name and e-mail address information. The course is self-explanatory and requires approximately 45 minutes to complete. A certificate of completion is automatically generated when the course is completed.

The course need be completed only once. One copy of the course completion certificate should be submitted to the CUIRB with the study proposal and a second copy retained by the investigator.
