FAQs

Q: Whose idea was it for a graduate student resource center?

A:
The need for a Center for graduate writing and resources had overwhelming support from the start, from faculty and administrators alike. We intend to keep graduate students involved so that it continues to serve your needs, especially from the graduate students’ perspectives.

Q:
Who funds the Graduate Project on Writing and Educational Research and the Writing Center component of Grad POWER?

A:
The College of Educational Studies funds both the Graduate Project on Writing and Educational Research and the Writing Center component.

Q:
How do we know that the Graduate Project on Writing and Educational Research is doing the best it can for graduate students?

A:
The Graduate Project on Writing and Educational Research has an Advisory Board made up of graduate students in Education and CES faculty who provide constant feedback to the Director. Grad POWER also periodically solicits students’ opinions through surveys and through questionnaires available at the onsite center in Reeves Hall.

Q:
How can I be involved with the Graduate Project on Writing and Educational Research?

A:
We’ll be soliciting applications for Writing Consultants, general all-around writing tutors, and Writing Fellows, students who tutor specific classes, at the end of fall, 2007. If you are interested in learning how to be a Writing Consultant or a Writing Fellow, please contact Director Gerri McNenny at mcnenny@chapman.edu.
