Dr. Jason Bennett joined Chapman University’s athletic training education program (ATEP) in 2002 and supported its initial accreditation in 2004, as well as its 10-year re-accreditation in 2009. During the spring of 2010, Dr. Bennett was awarded tenure, promoted to associate professor, and appointed as program director. This was the culmination of eight years of excellence in teaching, scholarly activities, advising, and service to the athletic training profession, as well as to the university.

In his prior role as clinical education coordinator for the ATEP, Dr. Bennett expanded the program's affiliated clinical sites from just one in 2002 to the nearly 30 locations where current students develop their hands-on skills and experience in a wide variety of health care settings.

Dr. Bennett has more than 11 years experience as a certified athletic trainer in Division I, II and III intercollegiate athletics, as well as in minor league baseball. He received his doctorate from Middle Tennessee State University in 2002 and, as a MTSU faculty member, contributed to the accreditation of their athletic training education program.

Dr. Bennett is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is a current member of several committees.  He is the technology chairperson for the Continuing Education Committee,  a member of the Educational Multimedia Committee, and the chairperson of the Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association Scholarship Committee. He is also on the editorial board of the Athletic Training Education Journal.
