ATEP Family Member Joins Athletics Hall of Fame

CU ATEP alumnus and former staff athletic trainer, Craig Bennett, MA, ATC, was inducted to the university’s Athletics Hall of Fame this past October. Along with one other inductee, Craig was honored at a reception and on-field ceremony during Chapman’s home football game vs. Pomona-Pitzer.

Craig Bennett Hall of Fame

As team captain and starting goalkeeper from 1993-95, Craig led our men’s soccer team to its first and only appearance at  the NCAA Division III Final Four in 1995. He received All-West Region honors twice and is still the CU record holder for career shutouts (26).

Study Abroad Program Continues to Shine

"Danke schÖn" Deutschland!

During January 2011, the ATEP returned to Germany for its second travel course in partnership with the German Academy of Applied Sports Medicine (GAASM). This 18-day course featured various clinical application workshops and cultural experiences, including K-Taping certification and diagnostic ultrasound, participation with the FC Nürnberg Sports Medicine Think Tank, and a "Luge Challenge" in St. Moritz. Chapman’s ATEP faculty and students were accompanied by those from other ATEPs across the U.S.  Read more about our study abroad program...

ACI Spotlight

Chapman’s ATEP enjoys affiliations with top athletic trainers in Orange County who serve as approved clinical instructors (ACIs) for our students, guiding their experiences working with real patients in a variety of settings. Our ACIs are integral to our program’s success…

 Clinical Instructor Juan Cuevas

This ACI Spotlight features Juan Cuevas, co-head athletic trainer at Fullerton College and fifth year ACI. His passion for athletic training and assisting students is evident through his humor, energy, and love for his job. Senior student Audrey O'Neill says that his positive approach and enthusiasm foster a great environment for learning while also having fun. What are Juan’s best tips for students? "Be prepared for the unexpected, work hard, and make the best of each situation." We thank Juan for all that he does!
