The ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION PROGRAM offers a Study Abroad experience through a travel course offered each Interterm.

The Athletic Training Education Program offers a Study Abroad experience over Interterm each academic year. This experience allows students the unique opportunity for immersion in another culture and country. Coupled with the clinical education experiences provided that directly relate to the Athletic Training major, a student can develop professionally, learn leadership skills and work with different sport teams and sports medicine professionals from other countries.

Currently, the courses rotate each year with a visit to Australia where students learn at the Australian Institute of Sport (similar to our US Olympic Training Centers), and work with Australian Rules Football, Cricket, Net Ball, Australian Tennis Open, and professional basketball leagues. In Germany, students are introduced to Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Diagnostic Examinations and high altitude training in the Swiss Alps, and work with the FC Bayern Munchen Soccer club, Europe’s premier soccer team.

The program is also considering trips to Japan and New Zealand in future years. Sophomores through seniors are invited to participate. Since, the courses are held over interterm, the tuition is free for 3 Chapman credits. Students are responsible for program costs and airfare, only.

For students interested in this course, please contact the Center for Global Education for information and registration.
