Course Specific Programs

Every so often, our center is awarded a Federal Grant. This money enables us to offer more Course-Specific Programs for your child. In the past, these programs have included:

• Large Motor Skills
• Physical Activity
• Computer Association
• Health Awareness
• Dance
• Introduction to Spanish

The majority of the individuals teaching these classes are students enrolled at Chapman University, who have a passion for working with children. They are interviewed and hired on by the center’s Director. The greatest thing about these Course-Specific Programs is that they are included in the cost of regular tuition – all except the dance class. 

The dance class is taught by professional Dance and Pilates instructor, Carly Westergard-Dobson of the Old Towne Dance Academy. She offers her class to the children of  Chapman University Children’s Center once a week for a small fee. This is extremely convenient for parents who would love to put their child through dance classes, but cannot find the time for all the driving that goes along with it. Carly has set up her dance studio in the same facility as Chapman University’s Children Center.

Because we never can predict whether we will be receiving the grant or not, there is no way of guaranteeing that these extra programs will always be available. Inquire with the Director on a year-to-year basis to find out if the option is there for your child!
